The Rise and Rise of the New Independent MP

2010 will see the greatest number of  prospective Independent MP's stand in the UK General Election.

The rise of the independent MP has been charted steadily since Martin Bell, stood and won a lanslide victory against disgraced Conservative MP Neil Hamilton in Tatton in 1997, and more recently Dr. Richard Taylor stood and got elected with a landslide win for Wyre Forest, amid a campaign centred around an ordinary man who cared about his
local hospital.

Whether it is Esther Rantzen, fighting the Labour anti-sleaze expenses

scandal in Luton South or a local figure fighting Hazel Blears in Salford, People are finally standing up and being counted, indeed it is not too late for you too to become an independent MP, and help sweep change into an outdated Westminster, and revitalise our political heritage rather than leave it in the gutter.
